The living master ist not something that comes into existence by need but only by grace. If grace kisses you, your desire for freedom manifests in a living master. Only by grace. And the living master is referring to your true self as I am referring your neighbour to his true self.
The seeker comes here burdened by concepts, programs and experiences. And the one desiring freedom has no choice, as little as the drowning man has in a sea or ocean. In the ocean of samsara, of ignorance and confusion, and someone comes and saves him.
When you are saved, it will be seen if you are in a thankful relation with the one who saved you or if that was a temporary meeting. Then you have the choice to suffer in that ocean with its eddies and high waves or to be saved on the save shore of knowledge, of love and of the heart.

| Sri Ramana Maharshi |
'I exist' is the only permanent self-evident experience of everyone. Nothing else is so self-evident as 'I am'. What people call self-evident, that is, the experience they get through the senses, is far from self-evident.
The Self alone is that. So to do self-enquiry and be that 'I am' is the only thing to do.
'I am' is reality. I am this or I am that is unreal. 'I am' is truth, another name for the Self.
From Ramana Maharshis 'Be as you are', edited by David Godman.

The Annamalai Swami was one of the last direct disciples of the Ramana Maharshi.
David Godman, who is living in Tiruvannamalai and who wrote so many good books on Ramana and Papaji, edited in 1998 his 'Final Talks', fascinating transcriptions of satsangs with the very own and deep insights of the Annamalai Swami.
Available in the bookshop of the Ramana Ashrams or at davidgodman.org.

Visitors of this year's Baden-Baden Rainbow Spirit Festival could listen to the piano play of Joachim Goerke.
Goerke, who is referring to Eli Jaxon Bear and Eckart Tolle, has now published 'Danke Thanks, Piano Songs for Silence' at www.sajema.de, after his album 'Silence calls me' sold out. Thanks.
