layout Newsletter 5/2010
Hello dear Reader,
the wind of life blows from all directions, sometimes softer, sometimes harder. Only in the center of the compass rose nothing moves, around the center, the Self, rotates everything. Therefore it is good to realise who we are, and have peace hereafter. No matter from where and how strong the wind is blowing.

Nothing but Love.

madhukar Madhukar: That's the truth there's nobody.

Visitor: That's it?

M: That's it. That means nobody enjoys, nobody suffers. So now when you enjoy fine, and when you suffer also fine, because you know nobody suffers. And the joy loves this understanding because this understanding is joy.

So joy will be with you. Suffering doesn't love this understanding. Therefore suffering will go. Yes, you are nobody. I am nobody. The body is temporary, the clothes is temporary. Truth is permanent, all the time.

Books
rightcontent Sometimes wisdom is not expensive. You can buy the complete Upanishads in the classic translation by Paul Deussen (1845 1919) into German for just 25 EUR at the Marix Verlag. The Upanishads deal with the nature of the Self.

The translator Paul Deussen was a German historian of philosophy and an indologist. And he was a lifelong friend and admirer of Friedrich Nietzsche and founder of the Schopenhauer-Society.

Schopenhauer said that the Upanishads were "the most fullfilling and exalting reading possible in the world: it is the comfort of my life and will be of my death." The Mandukya-Upanishads are the shortest and most important part and explain the nature of OM. With the Mandukya-karika Gaudapada, from whose lineage also Adi Shankara came, wrote a famous comment and the first text of Advaita Vedanta.

Wisdom cannot be learnt from books. But who is holding the diamond in his hands will understand some of Deussens today unusual German and will be in peace.

Movie
rightcontent In rare moments Hollywood outgrows itself. "Inception" by Christopher Nolan is a science-fiction film inspired by the concept of lucid dreaming and intelligently deals with the relation of dream and reality.

Dom Copp, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, steals information from the subconsciousness of sleeping victims and incepts ideas, in this case his client's competitor. 148 exciting minutes of film release the audience into a reality, of which the wise Chinese already assumed that it was dreamed by a butterfly. Or the other way around.

"Inception", director Christopher Nolan, 148 min.

Music
rightcontent "Gathering In The Light." Baird Hersey & Prana with Krishna Das

Not surprisingly the album is a musical "Gathering in the Light": Baird Hersey and his overtone choir PRANA comprising of 8 musicians create with their subtle and variating singing a symphony of sounds, flowing together with the deep and specific voice of Krishna Das Kirtan.

Affectionately and lovingly the inclined listener experiences a unique heart-sound-world full of devotion and silent power. Simply wonderful listen with your heart.
